Chicago Bears Tickets – Draft Analysis

Friday, October 16th, 2009
Brent Warnken asked:

The demand for Chicago Bears tickets got a boost from the NFL Draft. The Bears were able to address some of their needs from the past season, and they were able to bolster a few areas of the team which were already pretty good. If you are a Bears fan, you can’t help but be a little bit excited about the way in which the stats from 2007 will be positively affected with the new rookies. Let’s take a look at some of the new players and where they will fit in with where the Bears left off from last season. After you start daydreaming about another Super Bowl run, you can begin looking for some good Chicago Bears tickets to see the new players in action.

The Bears used their first, second and third round picks on offensive players. Clearly they wanted to focus on scoring more points in 2008. On offense the Bears did better through the air than on the ground in 2007, though they were not helped by a quarterback situation that was less than ideal. Chicago ended the regular season with 3,362 passing yards, good for exactly 15th in the league. They were no slackers through the air, despite all the bad press. On the ground they only managed to record 1,330 total yards (30th in the league) and had the worst yards per carry average in the NFL (3.1). It seems like the bad running game didn’t help the passing game much, or vise versa. Cedric Benson had trouble all season getting into the lineup and getting into the open field. He finished the season with only 674 total rushing yards and four touchdowns. Clearly he was no friend of the fantasy football manager.

That’s probably why the Chicago Bears drafted Chris Williams, an offensive lineman from Vanderbilt, as the No. 14 overall pick in the Draft. Williams is a pass blocker first, so he will probably get in the game when the Bears are trying to get it done through the air. To help on that front will be Earl Bennett, a wide receiver also from Vandy. Although the Bears do have some nifty wideouts already, they could always use a fearless deep threat like Bennett.

The Bears’ second pick was the 44th overall. They used it to grab a running back, Matt Forte from Tulane. The word on Forte is that he’s a good pass blocker. And with the current situation, the Bears will already have some good running backs to handle the load on the ground. Bottom line is that when you get some Chicago Bears tickets this year, you’ll probably get to see an even better passing game.

Carolina Panthers Vs. Chicago Bears

Thursday, October 15th, 2009
Cindy Ferguson asked:

We look at it this way from a fan point of view… It is about risen above misfortune, having faith that the guy next to you is going to be doing his job and you being responsible by doing your job and having conviction that it is going to happen, having tolerance, because you know that sometimes you make errors and there are ups and downs through the game, that there’s this tide and flow going on. Throughout all of that, the teams that overcome that kind of adversity are the teams that are going to win.

The Panthers overcame about as much adversity as a team could in their 20-17 home-opening victory over the Bears last Sunday September 14th.

As much determination as the Panthers demonstrated a week ago, winning their season-opener at San Diego on a last-second touchdown pass from Jake Delhomme to Dante Rosario, they managed to dig out of an even deeper hole to improve their record to 2-0. On Sunday, the Panthers battled back from a wicked first half filled with penalties and other mixed mistakes, including allowing a punt to be blocked and returned for the game’s first touchdown to help the Bears to a 10-3 halftime lead (which would grow to 17-3 early in the third quarter).

This is not to deceit the Bears. They opened the season with a convincing win over the Colts at Indianapolis. They have an impressive rookie running back in Matt Forte, who rushed for a game-high 92 yards Sunday and they have a highly talented defense, we’ve stated this before (Preseason Preview NFL – Chicago).
_________________________________________________________________

The Panthers were simply inferior through two quarters. How bad? They nearly had as many yards in penalties (40) as they had in offense (47). They were called for multiple false starts and illegal-formation penalties (one of which was declined).

Muhsin Muhammad finished with five receptions for 59 yards, making him the 29th player in NFL history to reach 10,000 career receiving yards, but he was not alone, Jake Delhomme’s 3 for 3 and running back Jonathan Stewart gave the Panthers a boost in the second half after the team managed just 47 total yards in the first two quarters. The rookie finished with 77 yards and two touchdowns on 14 carries.

Just how is it possible to overcome a 17-3 lead by Chicago at the end of the 3rd quarter? The Panthers’ final five full series included two touchdowns. Chicago’s final five series ended in three punts, a fumble and a turnover on downs, creating a result that showed how both the offense and defense picked each other up and carried the team when the other side needed it the most.

More importantly, the Panthers learned just how intensely they can count on each other, a lesson that could serve them richly in the weeks and months to come.

Nfl Chicago Bears - Kyle Orton Injured in Sunday’s Game

Friday, October 9th, 2009
Audrey Nolan asked:

The quarterback for the Chicago Bears, Kyle Orton was sidelined with an injury on Sunday’s game against the Detroit Lions at the end of the second quarter. Even though the team won the game 27-23, they are a little concerned about the injury that Orton is experiencing, which is an ankle sprain but they don’t know yet how bad it is yet. He was examined by doctors after the game but they said that he should be submitted to a MRI on Monday.

The game was going pretty well for the Bears, even though they also lost their emotion leader, Mike Brown, due to a calf injury in the same quarter. Orton was replaced by Rex Grossman, who was not well received by the fans, however, he made the winning pass for Rashied Davis to score the touchdown, but there where a lot of mistakes on his performance as well.

The team is expecting Orton to be back possibly in four weeks; they have to run more tests to be sure that there is no fracture since this type of injury is kind of serious. They also need to know how wide the roof is in the ankle sprain because depending on this, he could be treated with a boot or he may have to be submitted to surgery.
_________________________________________________________________
It doesn’t look that serious for Orton, but the Bears are taking all the necessary precautions so that he could be out the less time possible. It is for sure that he is going to miss this Sunday’s game against the Tennessee Titans and probably the next week game against the Green Bay Packers. It is not going to be easy to replace Orton in this two coming games but at least the Bears are not even considering bringing a new quarterback. The injury is not supposed to be season ending.

“To do that (bring a new quarter back), you would say that Kyle will be out for a long period of time,” Coach Lovie Smith said. “We’re not there. We’re evaluating an ankle injury. That’s about all we’re doing right now.”

Kyle Orton started his football career at the University of Purdue and is one of the only three Purdue quarterbacks that have started in three or more consecutive bowl games; he was the starter in the 2001 and 2002 Sun Bowls, the 2003 Capital One Bowl and the 2004 Sun Bowl. He started his professional career in 2005 right into the Bears starting lineup since former starter Rex Grossman was sidelined with an injury. During his first season with the team, the Bears won 10 of the fifteen games Orton started, but his rating as quarterback was not good. For the 2006 season Grossman was recovered and took the starter position again while Orton was sidelined for the whole season as third quarterback.

Nevertheless, his improvements and good performances during the 2007 preseason earned him the spot as starter once again at the end of the season.

In 2008 he signed a 1 year contract extension with the Bears and he was named as the starting quarter back of the season. As of last Sunday’s game, Kyle Orton has 10 touchdown passes, four interceptions and leads the Bears with a 4-3 record.

Ticket America Has Your Chicago Bears Tickets

Wednesday, August 19th, 2009
IC asked:

Chicago, Illinois — the Bears is a professional football team which has been highly awarded by its accomplishments in the National Football League as well as their trajectory. The origins of the team go back to 1919 when it was originally founded. The Bears currently played for the national football conference North division however, it hasn’t always been so.

From 1933 to 1949 they played for the Western division, for two years (1950 to 1952) the Bears were part of the national conference, then from 1953 all the way to 1969 they played as part of the Western Conference. Following this trajectory we find that for nearly 30 years (1970 to 2001) they were part of the NFC Central division.

Championships and Important Moments:

When it comes to championships, awards and accomplishments the Chicago Bears are one of the elite teams which has incorporated itself not only as a successful franchise but in the hearts of American pop-culture. To quickly summarize the list of achievements this team has had we must start by mentioning that they have won eight NFL championships and have also wona Super Bowl championship, not to mention the many accomplishments achieved as part of the NFC West, Central and North division.

Their first NFL championship was earned in 1921, then in 1933 they earned the top position once again when they defeated the New York Giants by a very close margin of 23 to 21, in 1940 they come back the battle another title this time against the Washington Redskins however, the game turned out to be a disappointment for many fans due to the wide margin achieved by the Bears (73 to zero). In 1941 they once again take on the New York Giants and this time they are able to defeat them by a wider margin (37 to 9), in 1943 they go up against the Washington Redskins and come out victorious after winning by a margin of 41 to 21. In 1946 they are able to once again defeat the Giants by a score of 24 to 14 and last but not least they make their appearance in 1963 to defeat the same team they have been able to overcome in the past, the Giants. In 1985-86 they were crowned champions when they defeated the New England Patriots by a wide margin, 46 to 10.

Quarterbacks in the Current Roster:

– Kyle Orton

– Nick Hill

– Rex Grossman

– Caleb Hanie

Chicago Bears Recent News:

Brian Urlacher contract situation has been a hot topic when it comes to the Bears however, the general manager Jerry Angelo reassured to many of the fans that the Pro Bowler wants to be a Bear for life. Several people were expecting Urlacher to skip the mini-camp while he tried to extend his contract but for surprise of many he opted to show up to the training and keep himself in good shape instead of going through legalities. Many of the 4th phase club members will be able to enjoy the many games scheduled for the 2008 season which are guaranteed to be electrifying. Getting tickets for any of their games is without a doubt money well spent.

Jay Cutler Traded to Chicago Bears - Will the Bears Win NFC North?

Monday, August 10th, 2009
GetRinger asked:

Will Jay Cutler revive the Chicago Bears and make them a super bowl team and easily walk through and win the NFC North this year?  Just today Cutler got his wish and has been traded to the Chicago Bears.  The Denver Broncos in return get two first round draft picks, one in 2009 the upcoming draft and one in 2010.  They also get a 3rd round pick this year.  The Broncos even get Kyle Orton in return for Cutler which some think is actually a better deal than the Bears got out of all of this.

Quick Poll Did the Bears or Broncos Get A Better Trade Deal for Jay Cutler?

VOTE BEARS OR    VOTE BRONCOS

Click on your vote above for your chance to win an NFL jersey.

Kyle Orton was just starting to heat up in the 2008 season for the Chicago Bears, however the owner of the team gave him some heat back in December saying that they needed to have someone step up in the quarterback position.  The Bears were always in this as a candidate for getting Jay Cutler, however they really flew under the radar in all of this.

On the other side of the things the Denver Broncos had to honor Cutler’s demand for the trade to end a dismal relationship between the two sides.  It’s not like the Broncos didn’t get a good deal in return as there were many teams interested in in Cutler, but in the end it was the Chicago Bears that had the best package to fit the Broncos needs.
